MMHW Recluse 5160 Knife Tan Handle w/ Riptile Kydex Sheath
Listing is for ONE Brand new MMHW Recluse with one of my custom Kydex sheaths and a large Tek Lok.
I made this sheath from .080 Riptile Nocturnal Kydex. The sheaths eyelets are set for a large Tek Lok and one is included. The Tek Lok can mount in the vertical, scout and modified scout positions as well as left or right hand pull. Knife locks in with a pretty smooth pull. Sheath also comes with a 7rattlesbushcraft paracord tie on the end.
Nice little EDC, self defense knife that is 9 inches overall and has a 4-1/4 inch blade that is 3/16” in thickness and 1-1/8 inch at it widest point. Nice skull/glass cracker on end. Recluse has tan Micarta handles with a paracord lanyard.
A brand new model from Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works. Sharp, powerful penetrator, excellent ergonomic handle. Just the ticket for every day carry and self protection. The fit to the hand is excellent.
The knife is 9 inches overall with a 4 ¼ inch blade. It is 1 inch wide at the clip and 3/16 inch thick. Made of 5160 high carbon spring-type steel, zone hardened and parkerized for corrosion protection. Weighs just 8 ounces.
The handle material is black canvas phenolic held to the full tang by epoxy resins and two steel friction pins. Thumb notches on the spine and exposed pointed skull crusher type pommel [or glass breaker] with lanyard hole.
Like all of MMHW products built to beat a tank! Made from awesome 5160 carbon steel (see below).
MMHW is a second generation shop. We have 40 plus years combined experience producing extreme usage cutlery, full bore field ready tools you can count on. We do not offer " bells and whistles" that only drive the cost of the product up. Function is our byword. If it does not function there is no fun and chances are if it isn't fun then it probably doesn't function.
All materials for our cutlery line up are USA sourced. 5160 spring steel is our steel of choice, zone hardened in the edge to 56-58 on the Rockwell scale. Canvas Phenolic Laminates are the handling material we utilize. Blades are blasted and Parkerized Black using Lauer parkerizing products. All edged tools from MMHW are 100% guaranteed, for materials and workmanship. All problems will be settled by repair or replacement at our choice.
5160 A steel popular with forgers, it is extremely popular now and a very high-end steel. It is essentially a simple spring steel with chromium added for hardenability. It has good edge holding, but is known especially for its outstanding toughness (like L-6). Often used for swords (hardened in the low 50s Rc) because of its toughness, and is also used for hard use knives (hardened up near the 60s Rc).
